Sewer Drain Cleaning Services

Are gurgling toilets and sewage backups disrupting your home? We clear the blockage, then put a camera in the line when a clog keeps coming back.

Sewer and drain cleaning restores flow with cabling or hydrojetting — and when a clog keeps coming back, Pro Sewer Repair puts a camera in the line, because a repeat clog is usually a sewer problem, not a drain problem. Open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

What is the difference between a drain clog and a sewer problem?

A drain clog is local: one sink, one shower, one toilet, usually hair, grease or an object in the trap or the branch line. A sewer problem is downstream of all of them, in the main line under the house and the yard — and it shows up as several drains slowing at once, a toilet that gurgles when the shower runs, or water rising in the basement floor drain. The cable clears both; only the camera tells you which one you had. A sewer company clears the line and then asks why it blocked.

Cabling or hydrojetting — which does my line need?

A cable snake bores a channel through a blockage: fast, and right for a single root mass or an object. A hydrojetter uses high-pressure water to scour the pipe wall clean: right for grease, scale, sediment and root regrowth along a run. Jetting cleans better; cabling is safer in fragile pipe. Neither tells you why the line blocked. The hydrojetting-or-snaking guide goes through the cases; the short version:

What is in the lineCablingHydrojetting
Hair, paper, an object, a single root massYesNot needed
Grease, soap scum, sludge along a runPunches a channel that refillsYes — scours the wall
Scale in cast iron, sediment in a bellyLimitedYes

Fragile or deformed pipe (Orangeburg, cracked clay)Yes, carefullyOnly after the camera clears it

When does a clog mean the sewer line is failing?

When it comes back. A line that clears with a cable, runs for a season and clogs again has roots at a joint, a belly holding water and paper, or a broken section catching debris. That is the point where paying to clear it again stops making sense and a camera inspection does: it shows the cause, with a distance and a surface mark, and turns the pattern into a specific fix — a spot repair, a BlueLight liner to seal the joints, or replacement if the material is done. Backups that only happen in heavy rain have their own explanation: why Seattle sewers back up in the rain. How a camera inspection finds hidden sewer problems shows what that scope turns up.

What happens on a sewer and drain cleaning visit?

  1. A real person answers, any hour, and a technician comes out to look at the problem.
  2. Find the access — a cleanout, a pulled toilet or a roof vent — and clear the line with the method that fits the pipe.
  3. Test the flow at the fixtures that were backing up.
  4. Camera when it is warranted — a repeat clog, a main line, a house with known old pipe — so you see why it happened.
  5. Options, if the camera found something, in writing, before a price. Estimates and second opinions are free.

Sewer and drain cleaning for property managers

For multifamily buildings, rentals and HOAs the job is the same and the paperwork matters more: clear the immediate issue, identify the cause on camera, and leave a documented record for the building. What sewer records a property manager should keep describes the file we help you build.

How do I keep a sewer line from clogging?

  • Grease goes in the trash, not the sink — it cools and coats the pipe wall, and everything else sticks to it.
  • Only toilet paper goes down the toilet. "Flushable" wipes do not break down and are a common cause of blockages.
  • Know where your cleanout is and keep it reachable — it turns an emergency into a routine call.
  • If a line has roots, schedule the cleaning before the backup rather than after, and ask about lining the joints, which closes the gaps roots grow through.
  • If the backups only happen in heavy rain, read why Seattle sewers back up in the rain before paying to clear a line that is not blocked.

What affects the cost of drain cleaning?

We do not publish a price range. What moves the number is the access (a cleanout versus a pulled toilet or a roof vent), whether the line needs cabling or hydrojetting, the length of the run, and whether a camera inspection is added. A repeat clog is where the arithmetic changes: after the second or third cabling, the camera and a long-term fix — sealing the joints with a liner, or replacing the failed section — usually cost less over a few years than clearing the same line every season. Estimates and second opinions are free.

Sewer Drain Cleaning: questions people also ask

Is the clog the whole problem?

Not always. A clog that comes back after cabling is usually a symptom - roots at a joint, a belly holding water, a broken section. When that pattern shows up we put a camera in the line so you can see why it keeps happening before you pay to clear it again.

Will you camera the line?

When it is warranted, yes. A first-time kitchen clog does not need a camera; a main line that has been cabled twice this year does. The inspection shows what the cable cannot - the cause.

Do you hydrojet?

Yes. Hydrojetting uses high-pressure water to scour grease, scale, sediment and root regrowth off the pipe wall. We use it when the camera shows buildup a cable would only punch a channel through, and we cable instead when the pipe is too fragile to jet.

Are you available after hours?

Yes - Pro Sewer Repair is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and a real person answers the phone. A backup does not wait for business hours.

Why use a sewer company for drain cleaning?

We clear the immediate blockage and, when the camera shows an underlying sewer problem, show you the repair options - lining, pipe bursting or replacement - in writing. We are a sewer company first; we do not do general plumbing.
