Sewer Repair & Replacement in Ravenna

A ravine, a park full of old-growth trees, and streets of 1910s–20s houses. Ravenna is root country, and the fix is closing the joints, not cutting the roots again.

Pro Sewer Repair repairs and replaces side sewers in Ravenna, Seattle — camera-verified, permitted through Seattle Public Utilities, with BlueLight lining and pipe bursting where the line qualifies. Open 24/7/365; estimates and second opinions are free.

Ravenna is named for a ravine, and it drains like one

The neighborhood grew up around Ravenna Park in the 1910s and ’20s, on streets that slope toward the ravine and toward Union Bay. The houses are the same era as Wallingford’s, and so are the side sewers: short-section clay with mortared joints. What sets Ravenna apart is the trees. The park protects some of the last big conifers in the city, and the residential streets around it are planted to match. Root intrusion isn’t a possibility in Ravenna; it’s the default.

The cycle we’re here to break

A Ravenna line gets cabled. It runs clean for a while. Roots regrow through the same open joints, thicker each time, and it backs up again — usually at the worst moment. Cutting roots treats the symptom. On camera we find the joints they’re coming through and check whether the pipe is sound. If it is, lining may be an option: a BlueLight UV-cured liner is a continuous, jointless pipe inside the clay, usually installed from a single access point. With the joints closed, roots have far fewer ways in.

When it’s more than roots

Streets that slope to the ravine can have the same offset joints and settled bellies we see on other Seattle hillsides. If the camera finds a section that has collapsed or lost its grade, lining isn’t the right tool; we’ll show you the footage and the options — a targeted spot repair, or pipe bursting for the run. Full replacements carry a transferable lifetime parts-and-labor warranty, subject to the written terms.

Permits in Seattle

Side-sewer repairs and replacements inside Seattle city limits need a side-sewer permit, issued by Seattle Public Utilities since October 1, 2025. The side sewer is private property from the house to the connection at the public main, so the permit is the homeowner’s responsibility — which is why we handle it as part of the job and put it in the estimate. Work in the street or planting strip can also need a separate SDOT permit.
